Cookie Policy

Cookies are portions of code installed inside the browser that assist the Data Controller in providing the service for the purposes described. Some of the purposes for which Cookies are installed may also require the User’s consent.

We use cookies to make our site easier and more intuitive to use. The data collected through cookies is used to make your browsing experience more pleasant and more efficient in the future.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent by the site to the terminal equipment of the person concerned (usually the browser), where they are stored and then transmitted back to the site the next time the same user visits. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard disk or transmit computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some of the functions of cookies may be delegated to other technologies. In this document the term ‘cookies’ refers both to cookies, properly so called, and to all similar technologies.

Types of cookies

Cookies can be either first-party or third-party, where ‘first-party’ refers to cookies that have the site as their domain, and ‘third-party’ refers to cookies that are related to external domains.

Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external party, always referred to as a ‘third party’, not managed by the site. Such parties may possibly also install first-party cookies by storing their own cookies on the site’s domain.

There are different types of cookies:

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service”.

They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be subdivided into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
  • analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve the site’s performance;
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the user. Users’ prior consent is not required for the installation of such cookies (more information in the section Cookie Management below).

Profiling Cookies
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles of the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web.

The use of profiling cookies requires the consent of the person concerned. According to the provision (more information in the section ‘Cookie Management’ below), the user can authorise or deny consent to the installation of cookies via the options provided in the section ‘Cookie Management’.

In the case of third-party cookies, the site has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). You can however manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites indicated in the ‘Cookie Management’ section.

The user is therefore invited to check the site of the third party.

Cookies installed on this site

Like most online services, our website uses first-party and third-party cookies for different purposes. First-party cookies are mostly necessary for the website to function properly and do not collect any personal data.

The third-party cookies used on our website are mainly used to understand how the website works, how you interact with our website, to keep our services secure, to provide advertisements relevant to you and ultimately to provide you with a better and improved user experience and to speed up your future interactions with our website.

Here is the list of cookies (grouped logically at the level of functionality or provider) on this site. Third-party cookies have a link to the privacy policy of the relevant external provider, where you can find a detailed description of the individual cookies and how they are processed.
